stone soup
who doesn't love the story about Stone Soup? as a kid, it was one of my favorites! it's a simple tale about making something out of nothing that describes the journey of a soldier returning from war who wanders into a small village in search of food and shelter. since the villagers are poor themselves, they deny his requests for food, explaining that they have nothing to offer. the soldier ultimately embarks on his own mission to create soup using only a stone and boiling water. as the villagers watch this unusual effort with curiosity, he convinces them to join forces and little by little they begin to contribute ingredients that collectively form a fabulous pot of soup.
what i love about this story is that it's the enhancements added by everyone that create a fabulous melting pot of flavor and substance. people came together from all over the village with individual contributions that had unique value and when combined, they created a delicacy that surpassed their expectations and could be enjoyed by everyone. even without a predetermined recipe, a masterpiece was created. similarly, that's what i love about this country. we have a rich history of people coming together from all over the world forming links to create a strong chain. Stay Lifted is extremely excited to be able to continually form links and chains with the donations and contributions to charitable work that are made as a result of your purchases and support. we are very proud of our stone soup. and this month, as we celebrate Independence Day, we are honoring the family links that support our military. in addition to the donation to the organization of your choice, we are donating $1.00 from all purchases made in July to Blue Star Families, an organization that provides resources and support to military families.
as always,
remember to stay lifted!
